The Academic Career Office invites you to a series of classroom-based classes as part of an extracurricular courses
Mastering Effective Teamwork
(20 teaching hours)
Classes conducted in English. Minimum B2 level language proficiency required.
Registration for the 1st edition via the USOS system from 3 February to 3 March 2026
The rules for delivering the course are regulated by:
Ordinance No. 20/2025 of the Rector of the University of Wrocław of 24 January 2025
on the introduction of extracurricular courses: “Entrepreneurship – Success Stories”, “Design Your Career”, “University Dragons’ Den”, “Effective Teamwork Training”, “Your Future Competences”.

How to register for the course?
Important: Participation requires the consent of the Faculty Dean, in accordance with Ordinance No. 20/2025 (submission of a completed and signed Appendix No. 1).
Step by step:
1. Register for the course in USOS.
2. Download Appendix No. 1 (print it, complete it, and sign it).
3. Submit the signed appendix to your Dean’s Office (in person, by regular mail, or by email as a scanned document) for further processing.
The appendix must be delivered to the Dean’s Office immediately!
4. Complete the FORM assessing your training needs related to the course topic – by 6 March 2026.
5. Wait for an email from abk@uwr.edu.pl confirming your participation.
- For participation in the classes (confirmed by attendance), you may receive 2 ECTS credits (credits obtained from extracurricular courses are not included in the calculation of study progress; they are recorded in the Diploma Supplement).
The condition for passing the extracurricular course “Mastering Effective Teamwork” is:
• confirmed participation in at least 80% of the classes, and
• completion of at least three out of four exercises assigned between classes
(pass/fail, no grade).
Because the classes are workshop-based, the number of places is limited.
If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, participation will be decided by the instructor’s assessment, based on the potential practical value of the course for individual participants.

Training #5: Leadership
• Is leadership only for “bosses”?

• How do leadership myths undermine teamwork?

Instructor:
Dr Michał Misiak is a psychologist working at the University of Wrocław, where he is based at the Department of Experimental Social Psychology. He is also a Research Affiliate at the University of Oxford.
His research focuses on the psychology of cooperation and conflict, with a particular interest in psychology of morality. A substantial part of his work is conducted in non-industrialised communities, including the Hadza hunter-gatherers, Maasai pastoralists in northern Tanzania, and the Yali people of Papua New Guinea. He is a strong advocate of the Open Science movement and Big Team Science approaches.
Alongside his academic work, Dr Misiak acts as a scientific consultant for non-governmental and humanitarian organisations. He supports organisations in research design, data analysis, interpretation of results, and the development of behaviour-change interventions. He has collaborated, among others, with the European Commission and UNICEF.
