Polish Your Polish – with Academic Career Office.

Knowledge of the local language strengthens both professional and social relationships, helps you navigate workplace situations, and allows you to feel at home in foreign environment.
“Polish Your Polish” is a practical onsite program designed especially for our international students who want to develop their professional future in Poland. Through interactive sessions and real-life examples, you will learn how to communicate effectively, understand better the Polish job market, and move comfortably within the cultural and business context of Poland.
The topics of our following meetings are (on the bottom of the page you can see the topics of the previous meetings):
Meeting #4: Job search and job advertisements.
- You will learn key vocabulary related to the job market including administration and job positions.
- We will analyze sample job advertisement in Polish focusing on the important information and key words.
- The classes will include a group discussion about most effective ways of searching for a job and what can be done to improve this journey.
Meeting #5: CV, cover letter, interview.
- We will work with CV and cover letter templates.
- We will learn what to include and what to avoid in a CV and cover letter, along with related vocabulary.
- We will discuss questions worth to ask a recruiter and practice asking sample questions in Polish during a job interview.

The fourth meeting will take place on March 24th, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics.

WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED SO FAR:
Meeting #1: Introduction and self-presentation.
- We learned personal pronouns, and verb “to be”.
- We practiced greetings and introducing ourselves (name, nationality, studies, etc.).
- We learned best practices for self-presentation in Polish and got to know the team.
Meeting #2: Culture at work in Poland. Workplace vocabulary.
- We gained an introduction to professional culture in Poland and learned the language commonly used in the workplace, including polite and courteous expressions.
- We worked with sample dialogues, and became familiar with popular Polish idioms as well as everyday workplace phrases.
Meeting #3: My competences in Polish.
- We discussed the future skills and learned how to identify and name them.
- We expanded Polish vocabulary related to competencies, and practice describing the strengths in Polish.
- We worked on the development of self-reflection skills and learned how to ask and answer questions that help identify your strengths, weaknesses, and key competencies in a clear and confident way.
